After my first son was born, I became passionate about sustainability and reducing our toxic load. With a background in luxury spas, I was accustomed to using high-end product lines. However, the naturalist in me didn’t love most of the ingredients in these professional products or the waste from the plastic bottles. From my Okanagan kitchen, with a $20,000 line of credit, I embarked on a mission to create shampoo and conditioner bars that offer the same quality and results as salon products, but in a clean, sustainable, low-waste form. And so began The High-End Hippie.
